A new children's book, Goodnight Cowtown, is a spin off of a longtime classic with a Fort Worth, "Cowtown", twist. Written by Fort Worth, Texas residents, it explores the many historical and renowned establishments and places throughout the city.
Goodnight Cowtown, is a colorful, cheerful and beautifully illustrated book that captures a child's attention, while teaching them the history and importance of their hometown, Fort Worth. It also appeals to the millions Fort Worth visitors, in search of the perfect way to teach and interest their children as they travel. Goodnight Cowtown is a book that the whole family will love and use as a guide every time they go on a Cowtown adventure!
Authors, Jennifer Drez and Robin Brumstead, were inspired by a classic children's book, Goodnight Moon, and thought that Fort Worth needed and deserved it's own rendition. In addition to perfecting the short, sweet, delicately rhyming text, the two penned an appendix that gives a brief history of each highlight.
Goodnight Cowtown, the hardcover book, will be available at local museum gift shops and boutiques late this month; it debuts with a launch party Feb. 16 at Billy Bob's Texas (2520 Rodeo Plaza, Fort Worth; 817-624-7117 or www.billybobstexas.com) and a Feb. 17 book signing at Parkhill's Jewelry & Gifts (2751 Park Hill Drive, Fort Worth; 817-921-4891 or www.parkhillgifts.com). The books will be available online at www.goodnightcowtown.com, which will be live next week.
