PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour returns to San Antonio on Feb. 25; World’s best bull riders compete for “Texas-sized” $100,000 purse
February 22, 2012 at 3:58 PM

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will offer a record $100,000 purse on Saturday, Feb. 25 when the PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour comes to Texas. The San Antonio Xtreme Bulls event always brings ProRodeo's best bull riders to town – and it figures to be something of an extreme "grudge match" with such big money at stake.
The headliners at the AT&T Center include 11 bull riding qualifiers from the 2011 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, matched against the rankest PRCA bulls, many of which were selected for this past December's Wrangler NFR.
Three-time World Champion J.W. Harris of Mullin, Texas, is in the lineup in what will be his last appearance before undergoing knee surgery on Feb. 29, along with 2007 World Champion Wesley Silcox of Santaquin, Utah, and fellow WNFR qualifiers Chandler Bownds, of Lubbock, Texas; Seth Glause, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Trevor Kastner, of Ardmore, Okla.; Clayton Savage, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Tate Stratton, of Kellyville, Okla. ; Bobby Welsh, of Gillette, Wyo.; Cody Whitney, of Sayre, Okla.; Tyler Willis, of Wheatland, Wyo., and Steve Woolsey, of Payson, Utah.
All 50 riders will compete in a long-go on Feb. 25 beginning at 1 p.m., and the top 12 will be brought back for the finals, where the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls champion will be crowned based on the highest average score. Monies won at PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour stops count towards the 2012 PRCA World Standings, which determine qualifiers for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
Following the Feb. 25 Xtreme Bulls event, country music artist Trace Adkins, will perform in concert. Tickets for the San Antonio Xtreme Bulls Tour event can be purchased at www.sarodeo.com or by calling 210.225.5851. Tickets are available for $10 and $25. All tickets are for reserved seating and include admission to the grounds. The AT&T Center is located at 3201 East Houston Street.
